Happy parent at Perley school FreeBox class.
FREE GEEK Michiana suspends the FreeBox Program during the academic summer break. The program resumes in the fall during the regular school year.
FREE GEEK Michiana's outreach programs are now conducted in conjuction with primary schools and neighborhood centers in low income neighborhoods.
Contact one of our partners and sign up for a class. Otherwise, the best way to get a FreeBox is to
volunteer and earn a computer in 16 hours.
Call Tom Brown at 574-298-2706 to put your name on the waiting list or check out the schools below.
Participating Title 1 Schools
If your child is enrolled in a qualified Title 1 primary center in South Bend, you are eligible to take a 2-hour FreeBox class. If you pass the test at the end of the class, FREE GEEK Michiana will give you a FreeBox. The computer belongs to FREE GEEK Michiana, but you can borrow it like a library book and return it when you no longer need it.
The class is fun. The test is hands-on, not paper and pencil.
FREE GEEK Michiana is holding FreeBox classes in conjunction with the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) in the following Title 1 schools. If you live in these school districts or neighborhoods, call the contact person listed.
